Our Story

Recognizing the increasing demand for barndominium-style homes in Tennessee, James Balmez started Midsouth Barndominiums LLC in 2021. With over 20 years in the construction industry, James wanted to give customers the option of having not only a quality-built home but also a great customer service experience throughout the entire build process. Since Midsouth Barndominiums has been in business, it has grown exponentially. Now, we offer in-house blueprint and interior design to provide a complete build experience that ends with a completed move-in-ready home, custom tailored to each individual customer.

James Balmez

Chief Executive Officer

James started this company to fulfill his passion for helping customers build their dream homes. With his extensive experience in the construction industry, he uses that knowledge to ensure the build process starts off correctly from the beginning, along with project estimating and material ordering. 

Nicole White

Chief Operating Officer

Nicole oversees all financial and business operations, marketing, and IT. She started with the company in 2023 after spending some time in the banking industry. She enjoys spending her free time with her family enjoying nature and the outdoors. 

Shondra Grisafi

Contract Specialist

Shondra earned her B.A. degree from the University of Memphis and joined our team in 2022. Her exceptional attention to detail is a huge asset through the contract signing process with our customers. She is an essential part to starting the build process off smoothly by ensuring every detail is accurate and our customers feel comfortable knowing exactly what they are getting. 

Ezra Graham

Sales Consultant

Ezra has been working in the construction industry for over 25 years. His passion for helping clients find and design the perfect home can be seen right away. As our sales consultant he leaves no question or concern unanswered, making building your barndominium an exciting journey. Ezra loves to spend his time with his family tending to his farm, mending fences, and singing choir is his local church.  

Jessica Boswell

Interior Design Consultant

Jessica works directly with our customers for the interior design and selections within the home. Our customers love working with her; not only does she have a keen eye for design, but she is also great at giving our customers options that not only look beautiful but also fit within their budgets. She is truly an integral part of the team for turnkey projects, helping make each house feel personalized and like home.

Debbie Youngblood

Administrative Assistant

Debbie retired after more than 25 years as a logistics operations manager. She has come back to the working world to fill her extra time helping us with administrative work and providing a friendly and inviting experience for our customers. She is a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and cherishes the time she gets to spend with them.
